I got this in the mail today. 2012 50 Tenge from Kazakhstan. I love praying mantises so I had to have this.
There was a thread to post coins with bugs - not many coins with bugs. Suppose they're not a popular subject for currency.
I look for them all summer and then usually I find them one weekend in the fall and that's it. I really like the coin too.
I always order a mantis egg from Insect Lore so the kids can watch them hatch (usually about 200 or more). After they all emerge, me and the kids take them out to the garden to release as we call them our garden warriors since they eat all the bad bugs. For the most part we usually end up having about 4-5 stick around to reach mid-size, but most are gone by full adult size by either leaving or getting eaten by birds or we just can't find them. But really cool insect and great for gardens. The really cool thing is letting the babies crawl all over your hands and arms while releasing them. :thumb:
