Thanks, The reason I mentioned is that your greek coin and the one I listed were minted at the same time and initially they were offered together for sale as a set. The 30 Drachma coins of 1964 and 1963
Just got these back from PCGS today: Picked it up at the NYINC show. It's undergraded and should have gone MS67. These Victory Over France Talers are extremely difficult in gem or better condition. Also from the NYINC show and also undergraded. Wavy lines in the planchet likely threw off the graders. Marks of an MS66, but I can understand their reluctance to grade it that high given the look of the fields. Finest known for type. Superb and just an amazing coin. Common coin, very uncommon grade. These are typically found in VF/XF condition, but rarely in unc. Mintage of only 1,245 pieces. Finest known example.
Here a few Canadian cents I picked up yesterday. I just wish the 1907 was the Rare 1917 but its not but I did get one that 1st small cent Canada used 1920 but Obv is Damaged from I am not sure what as the Rev is EF+?
I'm getting ready to pick-up a 1906 canadian cent from my neighbors mom ! Very very rare cent, not sure on price yet, I have to look at it first !
Some more than others. Depends on my patience of setting everything up. Yes, and the last 10 pesos proof I used sunlight through a window through the diffusor to get the nice blue toning.
I've always liked this coin. If only it were made from silver instead of nickel, I would be stacking them like crazy!
Lacquer in all probability. Yes, would be a cool coin in silver, but if they were all worn as are most of the nickel examples finding a nice one would be no easy task. At least in nickel the coin held-up pretty well in circulation, and every once in a while there are UNCs available for a modest price. Were it in silver, you can be sure the price would be 5 times higher across the grade spectrum.
1908 Austria 20 Corona, 60th Anniversary of Reign. NGC MS64. A rather generous grade in my opinion, but a nearly impossible coin to find in true uncirculated. Very nice looking reverse, the obverse is no better than MS62 in my opinion. All of the coins from this series including the Lady In The Clouds 100 Corona and the attractive Striding Lady silver 5 Corona crown, are VERY scarce in anything above MS60.
Yes the OBV MS-60-62 but the Rev I think in MS-65+ Ngc has to graded 2 sides+ Rim I thing the very strong Rev is why its a MS-64 or 1 of the Big Seller helped with the Grade??my2c?
