I won't be buying the coin, but I will buy some cookies. The cookies taste much better and they are easier on the teeth.

Doubt it. I bought the BSA commemorative when it came out because it means something to me.

Just a heads up on the cookies, the troops actually make about a buck per box; the restof the money goes to the cookie company. It's a rip-off for the troops.

I will be purchasing both the proof and uncirculated silver dollars. I just completed the entire post-1981 modern silver and clad proof and uncirculated set of commemorative coins and I want to keep the series 100% complete from now on.

Truth is, the troop sees 25 cents. 75 cents goes to the national organization to pay for administrative costs

Here's a tip for those of you who like Thin Mints. Keebler Grasshoppers are the very same cookie and you can get them at Target for $1.99 year-round. Also, they're great if you keep them in the freezer and eat them cold. You can thank me later.

Looks OK as far as commems go; I've seen worse, I've seen better. Just not interested either way personally, and I probably won't get one.

I'm the "cookie mom" for our troop. Yes, I know I'm a guy, but someone has to do it. I've been the cookie mom for three years now and my two daughters are both in Brownies. Perhaps it is different in other parts of the country, but here in New England the cookies cost $4.00 per box and the individual troops receive from 46 cents through 69 cents per box sold. Additionally, each box sold earns the girl who sold them 20 cents toward the cost of Girl Scout Camp and the credit toward the camp can be transferred to another girl if requested.

By the way, I have no plans on buying the Girl Scout commem.

Nope, not to ding the girl scouts but that is one ugly coin in my opinion. The boy scouts one was just as bad. The reverse with logo isn't bad, but they could have come up with something better than 3 girls mugshots just smiling.
