almost got fooled with the booming luster and went 67, but i dock it for the discoloration on the obverse field and the chatter around ONE and the dented S on the reverse. a high ms-66 here.
Nice luster, very few nicks, and nice strike although there is a bit of tiny chatter on the shoulder. However, the only problem (s?) I see is that spot in front of Abe's nose and possibly that streak from cent to the right wheats. I find it strange for all the blotches I have explained away, they picked these to ding the coin with, but I see nothing else to account for PGCS's grade of 65.
Irish2Ice is widening his lead again. I swore he would miss at least one of this set, but he got them both right. And DM1 has joined our top to replace MNcoinman. Columns are rank, name, average, and number of guesses. Irish2Ice 0.242 35 Leadfoot 0.310 30 ldhair 0.423 27 bahabully 0.483 30 rzage 0.489 49 ddoomm1 0.532 49 BadThad 0.556 47 mark_h 0.561 43 pumpkinpie 0.571 29 DM1 0.632 20
Those were the two reasons I went 65. The hits and chatter wouldn't have kept it from 66 IMO. I also think rzage is correct, at NGC this would have a shot at 67.
I'm pretty sure I've missed the last 4 but I am moving up :scratch: well I wont complain but that is one very nice MS-65
I think it's a moving average? So someone above you must have a worse set of previous guesses than you, so your four misses didn't weigh you down as much as those above you? RLM would have to chime in ... On to my guesses, both misses by 1, when you think you got this thing nailed, BAM those TPGs slap you back up side the face...
Yes, it is a moving average - the last 50 rounds. But there is another factor here. You have to have 20 guesses. We lost one this round because he no longer had 20 guesses.
