    $100.00 box of nickels
    1 war 45p
    1 2009p
    1 59d hole filler
    2 canadians
    1 1969 jamaca one cent

So with that war my skunking on nickels is over

I have to ask.. What is special about a 2009 P? I searched my first box of nickels over the weekend, and I had a few 2009 P in there, but I rerolled them to take back to the bank... By the way, they looked like crap... lots of scratches...

Also, I need to apologize, or set the record straight.. Earlier today, I posted that I had searched my FIRST BOX Ever... I just realized a few minutes ago, that it was my SECOND BOX... My first box was a week ago and it was a $500 Box of Quarters... This past weekend, I searched my overall Second Box, but First Box of Nickels...

I have another box of nickels I'm getting ready to open, and also unopened boxes, 1 of dimes and 1 of pennies...

    Wish me luck folks!

Box #13 of Halves: 11-40%, 4-90% includes 3 Bens. The first roll searched had a '64 and a Ben, then the second roll searched had another Ben. Man did I have high hopes with this box. Very satisfied anyways.
    Box #14 of Halves: 3-40%, 1 Ben
Not bad for a new source.

Gonna search a box of halves later this morning...either the Skunk streak will be over or it will be the 13th box in a row for Skunk. I hope my 13th box is not unlucky. :)

Woo-Hoo! Box #13 was not unlucky!

My 3rd roll into the box, I found this:
    halves.jpg

I ended up with 17 40%ers for the box. No 90%ers but I'm not complaining.

The funny this is that all 17 of them came from only 6 rolls. The rolls that had silver had 3, 3, 1, 4, 1 (ender), 5 (double-ender) silvers, respectively.

This breaks my streak of 12 straight skunk half dollar boxes.

:) The best thing is that the bank where I got these have 3 more boxes waiting for me. :) :)

What part of California do you search? If in the LA area, east side or west side? I'd hate for us to be dumping on each other. I'm mostly in the Orange County area, but they claim to pull from the LA vaults.

Bought my 2nd box of nickels this morning, and in the first roll I opened I found a 2009D, the very next roll I opened was a 1944P. I later found a 1943P and a 1945P, making it a total of 3 war nickels in one box! There were 34 pre-'60 nickels. Also found a coin from Panama and 2006 nickel with some coloring on it. Doubt either are worth anything.. nickels 2-12-13.jpg

So should I keep any and all 2009 P Nickels, regardless of how bad they look? And I see in the "Red Book" that 2009 D were also low mintage.. So just keep all 2009?

    Thanks in advance!

I personally stopped saving them, because, all things equal, the mintages are high in relation to the entire series and anything less then gem uncirculated will likely not be worth much in the future.

I certainly wouldn't bother with the circulated or dirty ones.
