Nope...Denver only minted the copper-nickel alloy. Philadelphia minted in both alloys - copper-nickel and silver-manganese-etc, and San Fransisco minted only the silver-manganese-etc alloy.

Got hammered by 30" of snow. There was no way I could get out on Saturday so I took $2800 to dump on Sunday. Everyone was all plowed out but the roads are still crap and some places are down to one lane. Every bank was closed...ha ha ha. I got smart this morning and started to call around and found BoA that was open. I don't normally dump there but I knew a teller and she hooked it up and took in $1000 in loose rolled halves and tossed them in a bag for me and gave me immediate credit.

I'm going to have to get creative the rest of the week because I have about $800 in dimes and no where to dump them. Good luck to everyone still digging out.

Know the feeling (although it wasn't as bad here). All the banks closed early on Friday & were closed Sat., so I feel lucky that I got my dumps done. I have a box of halves & dimes for tonight.

Made 5 or 6 stops today and found about $150 in halves. Nothing until the last stop, a new branch I haven't been in yet. Out of the $12.50 in the tray there were 11 40%.

I started doing this January 19[SUP]th,[/SUP] when I walked into a random bank, bought $20. of nickels and I found:
    (1) 1944P silver
    (1) 1907 Liberty “V”
    (1) Indian (year faded)
    (5) pre-’60 (including two ‘39s)

Same day went to a different bank, bought another $20. of nickels and found:
    another 1944P silver nickel, and:
    (1) 2009
    (6) pre-‘60

Since that day, and $490 dollars later, I’ve found:
    (4) more silver nickels (the most recent one today), another Liberty “V” (1912), 3 more Indian nickels, 3 more 2009 nickels and scores of pre-’60 nickels.

I’ve also went thru 6 boxes of pennies and have been averaging between 24% and 30% being pre-’82, and have been getting between 11 and 25 ‘wheaties’ a box, the oldest ones being 1909, 1917 and 1919.

This past Friday night, in preparation for the blizzard, I bought 2 boxes of pennies, and among my finds, was a 1905 Indian cent.

All I can say is that I wish I had thought of doing this years ago. I'm really enjoying the hunt, and looking forward to getting my first box of halves.

Over the weekend I did 2 boxes of nickels and 2 of pennies. Wow, it's been so long since I last got pennies that I for got how long they take to go through. It was worth it, though.

    Nickels:
    Box 1- 1 1944 war
    - 28 1946-1961
    - 5 pre-war, includind a XF1939
    - 5 Canadian

Box 2- 1 war ender (FIRST!!)
    - 33 1946-1961
    - 7 pre-war (4 1939)
    - 2003-S proof (ANOTHER FIRST!!!)

    Pennies:
Box 1- 8 wheats, oldest 1918 andan ender!
    - 24 Canadians

    Box 2- 21 wheats, oldest 1916 AND a 1919-S hole filler!
    - 16 Canadians

    Combined copper ~5lbs.
I will post the ender pics in the end roll thread later on.
So, I would say yes, this new teller does deserves a little prize! :D
