Alright, I'll give you an ultimatum. Your coin is damaged. Not "I think", I KNOW it is. That is the answer. It is NOT an error. Coins can be damaged in ways besides being run over. Perhaps it was dropped from space, or got stuck in someones pocket when they were doing laundry. It is a damaged coin.

Either you are hoping only the people who really don't know are posting, or you want some small snip of a more positive remark to use to sell it. You are wrong on both parts. I am 99% sure it is PMD also from the photos, so if it is worth the cost for authentication on a 1% , go for it. There is nothing to indicate it was made that way in the mint.

I don't care much for insults. I am steadfast on trying to help someone learn. Obviously it is not working.

Then tell us how it was made in the mint. Really, I want to hear how you think it was created.

I would listen to what non cent has to say, he knows his stuff. If you truly believe it is not PMD, then put it up on ebay and see what you can get for it. Someone on there may just agree with you.

Gained some of my respect there, non_cents.
cosmo, that is definitely Post-Mint Damage. I'd throw it back into circulation if it were up to me.

Now now, let's not encourage the selling of "supposed" errors on ebay...;)

You posted this thread asking people what they thought; can't complain just because people give you opinions you don't like. Don't like the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Looks like post-mint damage to me. But believe what you want to believe.

He said BESIDES PMD which at the time and still now is most people case for the coin shape,,why would he follow up with struck with a greatly deteriorated die. That's what I see. Is he wrong?

As far I care I will just putting it away,,,I pick rolls for silver, semi key date and key date,,toner coins,,

The fact that it may be struck with a deteriorated die is a negligible fact, as it does not impact collectability or value, and is technically not an error.
