I am learning more about U.S. paper money and I don't know anything about block numbers and plate numbers and stuff. I do know to look for odd serial numbers and old dates. Is there a book like a "redbook" for paper money or is the paper money info in the redbook adequate? I am also curious if this note is worth saving.
well it's only a buck. so if you like the serial keep it. i am not sure of the print run for those notes. but unless it is from a short run there won't really be any premium
Yeah I thought the serial was neat, my mom was the one who found it. I have her check all bills before she spends them. One day I shall find a solid!
good luck on that. i use to work in a bank for many years and never came across one. got tons of other stuff though. that is what got me into coins and currency
My father has some notes he got through circulation in the 80's some common silver cert's but they are very intriguing. Even some red seals in there.
11112020 = November, 11th 2020. Maybe something significant will happen that day? I'd hold on to it... at least until then!
Hold on to it for a while and it will end being a nice birthday note. Those are always a popular sell. In terms of reference, a Krause price guide is a great tool to get you familiarized with the hobby and what's out there. Disregard the prices however, since this is an auction kind of world, those quotes hold little to no face value.
