Well it was a banner weekend of parades for me. In total, I have been to fifteen so far putting me in the lead for the bar tab. Doubloons have been a bit scarce so far, but they always are tough to get from the smaller krews. This first one rejects the old saying that you should never accept wooden nickels. From Chief Choctaw himself. The second one is from on of Mardi Gras most beautiful parades, The Krew of Pygmalion.

Oh I will. I've been to twenty one so far and should make twenty one or two more by Tuesday. I am one down of the leader for the race for a bar tab, but I'm pretty sure that I won't need any more drinks for a while after Tuesday rolls around anyway. Just a reminder, no entries will be accepted after Sunday at midnight.

Well today is Mardi Gras, but the parades are over and I'll announce a winner as soon as I have the time to sort through my pile. I have a little treat for everyone who entered.

 

I can't believe that nobody guessed the correct answer of 74. Kentucky was the closest at 75, so he is the winner. Congratulations Kentucky!!!!!

Of the 347 total doubloons that I cought, here are a few of my favorites.
From the Krew of Orpheus comes this giant 3 inch proof like doubloon. I love how they actually make all of their doubloons in this fashion. No other krew pays so much attention to quality.


Next is a 1968 doubloon by the Krew of Endymion thrown by Clark Gable when he served as Grand Martial of the parade so long ago.

Next is one for you ancient guys. Fronm the Krew of Caesar comes this uniquely cut doubloon.

Here is the pile on my kitchen table that my girlfriend has been yelling about for more than two weeks. And some ultra rare mint errors. And don't even try to call it PMD either.
