My regular dump bank (and occasional pick up bank) told me Monday that they would be now charging me $5 per box that I purchase. They said that it caused problems for the carrier to haul boxes of coins to the banks for clients. I asked if I can still drop off my coins at that bank free of charge and they said yes. They usually have $3K-$4K worth of searched half dollars that the carrier picks up from them so I don't see the difference.

Note: I dump halves at this bank but pick up nickels, dimes and quarters so I'm not searching my dirty dumps.

The tellers told me that they didn't want to charge me the fee but this came from the corporation bigwigs. Oh well. Easy come, easy go.

3 boxes of dimes: all skunks.
It looked like these had been searched already. They were in clear plastic, but everywhere a suspicious coin sat, there was an small impression/tear in the plastic. Anyway, I ran into another half coin hunter dumping at a bank I dumped at. Tried to talk to him to maybe coordinate efforts, but he seemed too eager to continue his hunting. Drove a nice Mercedes, so he must be finding tons of silver. Good Luck to all.

That's a big no-no for CRH. Never use the same bank for dumps and pickups, even if they're different denominations.

    Why not?

I've been using my local bank (quite small, actually) to swap rolls of dimes and nickles 1:1. As of yet, I haven't ordered any boxes from them, and if I would, I wouldn't dump the coins from the box there.
For all intents and purposes, I'm basically going through what the bank has in its store of rolls.. So not technically a dump or a supply bank.
I also mark my rolls and they don't seem to mind. A nice sharpie down the side is all I do.

Well, my very first ever box of coins, and I chose Quarters... Found 1 nice 1964-D with very little wear...

Thinking about trying out a box of dimes next, then maybe a box or 2 of nickels...

Going slow at first until I get used to the process... It took me 2 days to search the quarters, because I'm also looking for "better date" coins of 1965 thru 2012 to keep...

I stopped in at a bank I grab the half dollars from every week. Only $1 worth, skunk. They're a small branch so I've never asked them about dimes until today. The teller was more than happy to sell me $250 worth and seemed receptive to me picking some up weekly. The $250 gave up six roosies, so I'll definitely be back for more.

Ugh...yes! Most definately. Today's box of Halves was my 10th box in a row. Over the last 14 boxes, I have found 2 silvers. Also, including CRW of halves, I have found 2 silvers in $7690 worth of Half Dollars. :( I would like to say, "Things can't get any worse" but I know that they could. I've got 2 boxes of nickels to search. My last box gave me a 1950-D so hopefully I'll be lucky with nickels.

I changed my status to Starving because that's what I am for silver.

Today is day 37 for 2013 and I have 46 silvers for the year.

8 boxes today, started off fantastic with 28 keepers in the first two, then really fell off. Good news is that the first two boxes came from separate branches, with another one of my pickup branches in between them. I pick up those SIX boxes on Friday. Here's to them being loaded!

Anyway, 8 boxes, 9 frankies, 7 of which are polished to heck, 3 '64's, 26 40%, 3 proofs, and two foreign.

    Here's the 90%'ers.
