At least its a Five Dollar Coin and not a One Dollar Coin!! Plus, it has selective Gold Plating. Personally, I think it'll be a hit once it's sold out.

I agree. Only 10000 minted and a very popular series. I might just order me one.

I went ahead and ordered one. Always been a fan of the maple leaf.

Plus I really like that they put the young version of the queen on the back.

I went and ordered one also. Love the design. $110 seemed a bit steep but with only 10000 minted I am adding it to my collection.

I ordered one also. My first purchase from the Canadian Mint.
Does anyone know what date they went on sale? It'll be interesting to see how long it takes them to sell out.

I have a question, as silly as it may be. If it is the 25th (also known as the SILVER) anniversary of the SILVER Maple Leaf, why did they decide to junk it up with GOLD plating?

Call me crazy, but that seems to just destroy the entire credibility of the project.

It's the Canadian mint. They do every conceivable variation. They've also got the 5oz 25th coin and the reverse proof 25th set in 5 different weights. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a privy mark, a colorized edition, and one with a Swarovski crystal in it as well before the year is over.

I kinda like that gold in the coin. Looks really nice. Doubt this will be a money maker but for 1 coin I am in.

Personally i would stay away from them their premium is bit high IMO, i do wish they issue a proof set like they did for 10 year anniversary. Love the proof platinum issue.
