So do US coin collectors who don't collect bullion or commems already cut off their Dedprez collections at the end of the "for circulation" production?

I understood that the first bill to discontinue the Presidential $1 coins was not going to include the collector coins, i.e. proofs and uncirculated.

They stopped shipping them to banks but the mint sells uncirculated rolls from what I understand.

They have stopped the circulation coins. The same Senator wants to terminate the collectors coins. It won't pass, as it actually makes the govt some money, since they are sold at a premium over face and only in quantities that are wanted. Once we get to Obama, this will pretty much end, and then every 4 years there will probably be a single president coin made along side the Sac. dollar. Which in turn will probably shoot the price of said sets sky high.

I didn't think they could make coins with living people (sitting or former presidents) on them?

Not entirely sure to be honest with you, but I would think that they're going to go from 1 to 44 at the very least, and that would put us into what, 2018-2019, so there will be another president after Obama before they reach the end. And if they're going to make Reagan, Carter is still alive and kicking, and I wouldn't think they would skip someone. Due to it being a special series, it could've been written into the law that this program will cover all presidents not just those that have passed.

I'm just thinking out loud here, I have no clue what the law for these coins says or for that matter the law on who or what can be put onto coins.

How do you stop at Obama ( if it gets that far). Say Hillary gets re-elected in 2016, she doesn't get a coin when she croaks ?

I think you could easily stop at Nixon until Carter is stiff, then do him, Reagan, old Bush should have kicked the bucket by then, maybe stuck on Clinton for a bit....should be able to just continue when these people are gone, and make a profit at it.

It should at least get to Nixon , should Carter live extra long.

I said stopping at Obama because he's number 44... 4 each year, 11 year evened out. Then after that, one for number 45 in 2020, then one every four years. This would make it so in theory, a seated president isn't on a coin.

I'd like to see a Congress Commemorative. A dunce cap on one side and a turkey on the other. Made of rusty tin, worth half a cent.

I would not take it too seriously. The senator mentioned is David Vitter. Enough said right there.

Found a couple of articles on the Internet that confirm that no living presidents will be included on the coins.

Um... terminate the paper dollar and put the coins sitting in the vault into circulation? Wouldn't that save us even more money?

The sooner the better. Gastly images of politicians. We need more images of Liberty and less degenerate pseudo tyrants, their wives and the other parasites of the court in DC. :dead-horse:
