I didn't know you could make the grade go up by cleaning a coin?

I clean my Morgans with Brillo Pads. Gives 'em an unusual texture.

Do you then use paint or crayons to get the toning back?

Actually, elijahhenry10, I paint the Morgans with extra virgin olive oil and place them in the microwave along with an un pierced baking potato for approximately 4 minutes. When its time for the fire extinguisher, I make sure the coins are coated with foam. The results are remarkable.

    He also says:

"NEVER CLEANED 1890 SILVER DOLLAR MINT MARK CC (CARSON CITY), ONCE CLEANED BY A PROFESSIONAL "

So, it is apparently professionally uncleaned.

    I guess.

Hm, I'll have to try that next time. I think you could get some better effects if you wrap in in aluminum foil....

I try to use the buffing wheel on my bench grinder... Just hold 'em with pliers or better yet a set of vise grips!

And make sure ya bear down real hard with those vice grips Bill. Ya don't want to risk dropping and damaging the coin....

I don't know Riff I'm with alicechaos and the brillo pad. I got to think about the time machine thing. Too late and too many 7 and 7's to be thinking straight...right Ken?:D
