I came across this interesting feature. The whole coin is interesting, actually. I noticed this feature after sending it to PCGS for grading. I want to send it to CONECA or ANACS for their opinion on possible error(s). I would appreciate comments and input as to what I may be seeing. You would be better to set up an account on Vam World. Provide good photo and post them to the forum. The guys there know much more about them than Coneca, ANACS or PCGS. Those incomplete feathers are most likely from a heavy die polishing. PS you can directly upload your photos to each separate thread. There is no need to use the media files.
Thank you. - I just joined VAM World. I'll post there. Again thank you, please explain the uploading to separate thread comment. I am at a loss. (old age)
All that I am saying is that you don't have to use the media option to post photos. Just directly upload the photos to the thread. Use the upload file box at the bottom of the reply box. or copy and paste from your personal photos album.
Or all you need to do is find it in your file or wherever it is, right-click it, copy and paste, like I just did right here...
That feather wasn’t polished down as it was recessed on the die (it was already sitting down on the die, or sunk into the die). That’s a die-variety. Tell that to VAM World, so they get it right.
Thank you. I thought I had seen it in a die-variety article but couldn't find it. I spent nearly a full day researching though VAM World and other sites. lol - I figured it out. Thank you. I had once uploaded a photo using that method, but forgot about it. ... much easier, thank you again.
I joined the Society of Silver Dollar Collectors http://www.ssdcvams.com and VAM Word forums, yesterday at the recommendation of another CoinTalk member, ToughCOINS .
Well, I didn't quote you as you told me to, and they didn't get it right. I got a few comments, all superfluous guesswork. I used to send my coins to Wexler and another individual whom I cannot remember the name over at CONECA. Do you have a reliably good source that I can get a proper evaluation and attribution before committing $$ to a third-party grader like ANACS or NGC?
Thank you... I reread my reply and recognized it as a bit taught. I am not feeling up to par today. Hopefully he sees the post and reacts.
