1857 FE cent BTW I'd recommend getting your coin out of that holder and into a 2x2 flip. It looks like the holder has PVC.
Like Matt, i have some small silver greek 6th century bc. I have meant to get a 7th century bc electrum coin, but not yet. All told, i probably have about 2000 coins that are bc, so all relatively oldish. If you are just talking US, i have a 1795 dollar.
600 A.D. or 600 B.C.? AD they are referred to as Byzantine. http://bargainbinancients.com/zen/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=11 They are a whole different breed of their own compared to romans and greeks.
Yeah, for that timeframe you are looking at mainly byzantine, islamic, and chinese. Western collectors simply do not collect islamic and chinese coins much. After the tenth century, european medieval coins become more common.
Mine is an 1883-O Morgan. A series I do not persue yet winds up being the oldest in my collection. For now.
Oldest US coin is a 1802 large cent. Non US would be a roman coin from around 315 A.D. Not sure of the exact details off hand.
