This is just a heads up that scholarships are now available through the ANA for Summer Seminar at:
    http://www.money.org/media/45081/yn_scholarship_application_2013.pdf

Summer Seminar is a great experience. Fly out to Colorado Springs for a Week in June or July. Live with other YNs. Take a course in grading, counterfeit detection, numismatic photography, Barber coinage taught by our very own Elbesaar, or any other of the many numismatic courses.
I will be out there both weeks, teaching a miniseminar Week 1 and will be the auction head for the YN Auction week 2.

Scholarships include full scholarships that pay for everything: airfare, lodging, food, tuition; and partial scholarships that cover tuition. The only requirement is that you be an ANA member. I have gone out for two years now and it is something I look forward too every year, and cherish the friendships I have made.

Every YN should apply, don't be intimidated by the application.

If you have any questions, send me a message.

I helped this past year by either bidding in or donating to the auctions that they had.
In fact I bid against myself on one of the items.
I just held my bidding number up until I reached the amount I was willing to donate; no other bidders :)

Awesome, looking forward to seeing you out there!

What class are you taking? And what week are you going?

Week 1, either class 2 (preferably) or class 1, along with the Condor token class and the Gold mine trip.

Hard to chose a class when you have such a broad collection (Ancient coins, British coins and American coins are the main parts of my collection, with an influence from world, Canadian and Maritime coins, and looking at CWT and Aussie coins).

I am a type collector thought... so a collection for me only has one of each type :D

Week One and Grading Two with Steve. If I get scholarship I may stay for week two though I don't know what I would take.

In all honesty, and I think Luis (coincast) and most other people who have taken the courses will agree, start with class 1, even if you feel confident. There's really nothing like these classes, and the instructors are great and so interesting to listen too.

    What?
Class 1 and Class 2 both say New.

    Class 1: Legends in Numismatics
Class 2: Light from Many Lamps

Any opinion on the "Modern Minting Process: Errors and Varieties" course?

Kind of sounds like my cup of tea...
