MS-66, I love the reverse of those Texas quarters

I went with '64. There's some slight chatter on the obverse rim above Washington and a few blemishes on the bust that I feel might preclude it from going higher........

I went with 66 because it looks like there are a couple of scratches on the left obverse field and maybe one on Washie's cheek.

On a side note, it looks like somebody is rustling a herd of cattle just south of Amarillo.

i have no idea how to grade modern SQ's.... I like the TX SQ's.. and like the mild golden tone this one has also.. very attractive imo. I'll say 65.?

Minor marks that do not appear to be that noticeable. I guess 67, but 66 would not surprise me.

I might send it in just to see what they say. It looks 67 material too me, but ownership usually adds a point. Still, the toning is nice, maybe I could recoup some of the grading costs from a toned type set collector.

I don't know about the 67, but you have the advantage of having the coin in-hand. I just don't know if it would be worth submitting. Recently, Shane sold 7 of my 2005 P&D CA SQ business strikes the were in NGC MS68, and they averaged $94.65 each. Numismedia shows only $16.25 for MS67 TX. Do you think the toning will bump it that much?

Oh dear. Two points higher than what I stated. Still, it is all subjective, isn't it? devil.gif
