Inquisitive, you should sell all of your coinstar finds on ebay and your user name could be... CoinStarIdiotsPayMyBills I think that seems fitting...
Found out that I'm going to NY for a week this summer! I'll be sure to seek out some Coinstar machines, since Inq has such great luck with them there. Maybe I'll find something!
Be sure to check the subway ticket machines (if you take the subway). I found $2.05 in change last time I went down :thumb
Something worth Reporting This is from my now weekly stop at the TD Bank before I go food shopping. It's not really on the way but it lets me get rid of $500 in dimes while the kids are napping. 1945 Silver Washington Quarter! Then a pile of Change, at least $2.50 in US Coins and then some foreign The change was on the floor of the machine, the reject tube must have been blocked by a bag and it was just spilling on the floor. I snatched it up quick while they changed the bags. HOTN
A couple weeks ago I found a silver Roosie, so I think it may reject silver. I may be able to hit it on Thursdays as well but don't want to wear out my welcome. Getting rid of coin, picking up a few extra bucks in clad, and finding silver. It's worth the 15 minute drive out and back. HOTN
I often wondered why I had such good luck finding silver in the reject tube. I went to dump some dimes today and the maintenance guy was fixing the machine. We got to talking and he told me that the machines could be set to reject silver and he had all his set up that way. Still, pretty lucky to find someone else's rejects.
returned some coins at my bank this morning and in the reject tube was an 1988 Canadian dime, 2009 Canadian nickel, 1982 British 20 Pence, 1922 France 1 Franc and a 1934 PA-NJ Bridge token. I think the Franc and token are pretty cool.
Nothing much, the first silver quarter I've ever found in circulation. It has slight toning, but looks awful. Still not complaining due to it being silver. That, and I think an English coin labeled "5 Pence".
Checked the local CoinStar again today - nothing in the reject tube, but I remembered reading earlier in this thread to check any garbage cans nearby. So I did just that and sure enough, I picked out a 1941 wheatie! I got a couple of odd looks with my head in a trash can, but who cares!
I went to one of my dump locations today. When they changed bags I saw the reject chute was clogged. I had them fix the clog and the floodgates opened and I got a pocket full of reject coins, foreign mostly but about four bucks worth anyway.
