I think I read on here when buying quarters from the US Mint to buy the ones in the rolls instead of the bags... was beacuse they will not be be as abused or something like that.. but one guy bought the bags full and found ..I think an error or something else that made it a little more valuable... or is it just the luck of draw bag or rolls doesnt matter????? thank u much

Errors are the luck of the draw, but I imagine rolls would contain coins that had fewer hits. A bunch of coins jostling around in a bag is bound to do some damage.

My dream is to find a $1,000 bag of Eisenhower Dollars that weighs in at 40 lbs. Usually they weigh about 50lbs so I figure if I find one that only weighs 40, it'll be loaded with clips and then I'll buy an Island off the coast of Costa Rica complete with dinosaurs and Costa Rican Maidens!

    Then I wake up......................meh!

I've had good luck finding MS68 business strikes (50+) from bags - Sac, Kennedy & SQ. Machine-rolled coins can get just as many hits as those packed tightly in the bag for shipping.

Whe it comes to errors or varieties, it's just the luck of the draw. My 2001-D Kennedy missing the clad layer came from a bag. My 2005-S KS Silver SQ came from a proof set.

The advantage of buying the bags instead of the rolls is that they are cheaper.

........and discover that the $1000 bag only had 800 coins in it.

Dinosaurs and maidens are an odd combination but, hey...whatever turns you on.

Dinosaurs and Maidens? I guess that beats the good old Unicorns and Rainbows.

Not that I've heard of as far as errors - let us know if you find anything. Otherwise look for high grades.
