I got these cents in a roll from the bank . The coin wrapper has the name dunbar, and was wondering how these 50 coins got so many colors in one roll. The other rolls are normal color. Any ideas would be nice, Thanks
cool find Isn't it fun to find things like this? IMO the coins you posted are keepers but I don't have a good answer to your inquiry. I will be interested to learn what others say about your colorful coins. Here are three that I found one time. They were all three in the same batch. I initially made the incorrect assumption that they were related to each other.
The starfish coin is a Bahamas 1 cent piece. The gold colored cent is the result of a high school chemistry experiment. The third coin is normal coper coated zinc. I hope that someone replies to the OP.
dunbar is an armored car service that delivers and picks up coins and currency to banks. all they do is wrap the coins themselves and distributes them to the banks. i am not quite sure why that some of the coins in one roll have different colors and the rest are normal. that is just the way they received them and then they just wrapped them for distribution
I did weight them and are 2.11 zinc. All 50 coins are colorfuland all seem not to have wear. Wonder if something at dunbar happened. Maybe we will never know but neat and will keep them. Any ideas will be nice.
