I would like to find out if anyone knows what's going on here? This nickel has a perfect round line that goes straight through the bottom of the words ( five cents )and looks as though it smears them , also there is a dent on the top rim above jeffersons head
AWWW You Guys have an answer for everything....hahah..cant a girl have a little time to dream before you start poking holes in the excitement ..You all have so much knowledge you probably can answer a question without a photo lol.THANK YOU. So guys heres 2 questions all on nickels. I have a 1941 nickel that the A looks like a K in americK on back, and a (1999 what appears to be copper) on front solid dark copper color but the back of the nickel half is dark and hlf is light color copper crescent shaped. Let me know if photo is needed
Winner winner chicken dinner on the sinstered "copper colored" planchet. The other is just post mint damage.
No the copper colored on is worth a couple of dollars, just that the damage makes it worth less. How much is it worth, I'd guess $5-$10
I have a quarter that is copper. I have about 25 unusual coins how would I go about showing them without being annoying
I like Jefferson Nickels and Texas Holdem. Don't think you are gonna have much luck finding a valuable circulated Jeff though. Even the most sought after varieties are worth less than $100 in the circulated grades. Here is a 1939 Doubled Monticello in VF.
when i bought a folder filled with nickels (1938-1961) my 1969 coin is in just a little better condition. the set also included PROOFS from the 1950s, including the mintmark and year when only 7 million were minted. how much would a proof be from that year??
I don't collect Jefferson proofs and I know this answer may sound a little mean, but my answer is anywhere from 5 cents to not much.
funny how they would sell me a $300 coin for a few cents....http://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-D-S-5C...43?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item5d38e9fa1f
