Stuff she acquired in her travels. From what I've read, these pfennigs are pretty common and worthless. I understand they're steel, and either brass or copper-plated. I like the small copper ones... This is interesting though, a 1 schilling Austrian blank... I'll post more later.
Basically yes. Cannot tell from those sides what denominations you have, but the 1 and 2 Pfennig coins are copper-plated steel (except for the 2 Pf until 1968 which are mostly copper). As for the value of common well-circulated coins like those ... add the amounts, divide the total by 1.95583 and you get the result in (euro-)cent. There are a few exceptions, such as 2 Pf 1987 (all mintmarks), or the 5 and 10 Pf 1967 G, but by and large they do not have any value to write home about. Now that Austrian 1 Schilling coin with the blank reverse is pretty cool! Don't know about the possible value though. Christian
Thanks Christian. Actually, the planchet is completely blank - that's a second coin next to it for reference. I threw it up on eBay for 10 bucks. We'll see if anyone bites.
