    I disagree.

The novelty of a "Lance Armstrong coin" would make the price go up.

    :)

It's all a French conspiracy. The French hate it like heck when Americans best them at their own sport........

Well time will tell but all the baseball greats who had rookie cards that use to sell for hundreds of dollars are now going for a fraction of their original price. I don't see why coins would be any different.

You've got that wrong too. Samaire Armstrong Cannot do the moonwalk on a bicycle. She plays the trumpet.

Testosterone is a steroid hormone used for increased muscle mass, it's abused by athletes. "I-got-cancer-from-Testosterone" is a cheap dodge. He lied about using steroids for over a decade - we don't know when he started using 'roids - and Amstrong didn't only attack those who told the truth, he also filed lawsuits in a vain attempt to suppress the truth.
So much for "heroes" (zeroes?) - cheater, liar & fraud.

He milked his cancer story for million$ - pure fraud. Those demanding to see the long-form birth certificate should refuse to believe the 'cancer story' until the doctors' diagnostic reports are released. How can anyone "know" a proven liar's 'leading story' is true otherwise?!

Liars lose the benefit of the doubt. The coins are hilarious artifacts of the Late 20th Century American Lie. Give him the Madoff Metal!

Guess they primarily hate arrogant Tour cheaters who keep "winning" for pharmaceutical reasons ... and who take that long for finally "admitting" something that pretty much everybody has known for years. ;)

(Edit) Just realized that this is not the General Discussion forum. So to make this coin related again, the French Mint will issue some coins for the 100th Tour de France this year. Design not known yet AFAIK.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. But ya know, when it comes to cycling, the French (when not winning) are too inclined to cry foul.....

You may dislike "the French", but have a look at who won the Tour de France in the past 20 years. (Note by the way that none of them is from France. ;) ) Many of these names (Ullrich, Contador, etc.) are connected to the use of illegal substances - problem is that doping is almost ubiquitous there. So whether it is fair or not, pretty much every TdF winner will be suspect ...

Heavens no! :) In fact, one reason why I like them is because of their great appreciation for our American jazz. :)

I do, however, enjoy 'ribbing' them........

WOW, NICE READ.. I for one believe that if your going to be a big successful business person or athlete or whatever politican, and be highly regarded, somewhere along the way your going to deceive, tell white lies, cheat, dishonestly and do things to improve your chances . when this happens it the person who mkaes that choice whether you want to live that way or not. Lance made choice and now he must deal with it what ever way he can....... just sayin........
