MA115D-2a (reverse 1284) R-9 (2-4 known to survive/exist) As per Kanzinger's 2002 price guide: Fine/Very Fine: $1250.00 EF/XF: $1500.00 UNC: $2000.00 With the corrosion and verdigris, your specimen is about a Fine 'Details' I would venture to guess somewhere around $600.00 - $800.00 Congrats.
Something a little different. I won this at a drawing on the first day of the FUN Convention in Orlando. They were demonstriating the Spider Press and showing how intaglio prints were made. There were five drawings of twenty each, over the course of convention, for this special print. Each was signed by the plate printer, numbered and dated. A total of 100 prints over all. On the first drawing held, I won the eleventh print :>) A very nice keep-sake for my attendance there.
Here's some of my stuff, hope I didn't already post these. Well I know I didn't post Chief Pontiac yet.
Nice Whitney token fretboard. I have a similar piece somewhere in my collection but will have to look for it. Glassmaking was a big industry in South Jersey in the 1800's and earlier so there's a pretty good variety of manufacturer's tokens and paper scrip available on the market. Some are fairly common but others are rare like the Bodine Brothers tokens and paper from Williamstown. Your token is listed in Rulau but don't have my reference handy to look it up for you. Nice piece. Bruce
Temple Tokens from India? I believe I've seen these posted somewhere on Cointalk, in any case, here is mine.
I just had to buy this medal, designed and produced by Jerome Remick. Numismatics and geology... how could I resist??!!
I have two of the "Dr. Seuss... I Presume Order of Myths 2003" deals, and I've the Roosevelt for as long as I can remember... Like, as a small child.
Nice medal SPP. I collect numismatic related medals, tokens, etc. and have seen this one before, but don't have one in my collection. Nice pickup! Bruce
Your second coin looks like it's cast Ripley. Is it? I like them both, but especially the Two Anna. Bruce
JUSTUS Von LIEBIG COMEMMORATIVE SLAB I bought this a few years ago on eBay from a seller who wouldn't disclose its weight, insisting that to do so would seal its destiny to the melt pot! It isn't perfect, but is a fine piece of medallion art, and I wouldn't consider melting it. It weighs 7.93 oz troy; dimensions: 73.5 X 87.4 mm. It's marked along the bottom edge: CARL POELLATH SCHROBENHAUSEN SILBER 1000 FEIN. Any of you with translating skills please have a shot at the legend...and thanks!
Theodor heuss I have no recollection of when or where I got this. It's 40.33mm, .825 oz troy. If anyone can translate, I'll be grateful. Rim mark (crescent & crown) are also open for identification...Thanks!
Russian cosmonauts ? Another orphan, without provenance. Almost certainly silver plate over bronze; it is unmarked. The staple appears to have been carefully brazed to the machined rim prior to plating. 60.8 X 5.1 mm; 107.3 grams. Translation welcome, of course! Thanks, again...
