I'm not thrilled with the new format and fees at Teletrade so I checked out Great Collections again, it's run by Ian Russell formally of TT. Their fees look good and they offer a variety of options, BIN, auctions, 24 hour deals. Anybody have any experience or thoughts about them?
I have consigned coins to Ian since his first GC auction and my experience has been positive. Currently his customer base has grown exponentially and continues. I have only bought a few but consigned 150+ lots. In most cases I recieved more than TT would have generated. The most noticeable attribute is rapid payment. I'm paid in half the TT time and a tenth of Heritage time span. The GC search features need improvement and his consigner payment documents need to be abbreviated. All in all it looks like a very credible alternative to TT.
I've never used them or bought off of them, but upon recommendation by two guys I highly respect I'll have to check it out......
Great site to buy from. I purchased all three (movin' on up in numbers!) of my slabbed lincolns from them.
I've had some great bargains from their auctions....not every week, but there are good deals to be had.
I am considering sending some coins to GC for auction. Ill probably be sending them some next week. Ill let you guys know.
I'll have to check GC out. The opening bids on TT are too high, especially now with the 17.5% buyers fee. They've jumped the shark, at least for me.
