8 boxes tonight, 13 40%, 6 '64, and 1 Franklin. Of that, 11 40% and all the 90% came from one box... what a drag.

Just a little heads up!! I went to dump about $850.00 worth of change at my CU yesterday. Everything seemed OK but when I got done my total of $739.40 just did not sound right. But I was not sure. I told the girl at the counter that I knew I had $120.00 in Quarters I had counted them and it only rang in $99.75 I weighed my pennies yesterday morn and I had 18.5lb's at 1.5 G's a piece all 83 and above I figured I had close to 40 or 45 in pennies it rang in $29.00. The girl said usually the only time it happens is when the sensors get dirty from real cruddy coins.
I got home and found out my halves were off by 88 halves also. I was sick to my stomach. I got a hold of the teller manager in the afternoon that I have known for 25 years and told her, She did not believe me??? I told look I know I am screwed and there is nothing you can do but I wanted to let you know in case it happened to someone else that was not as nice as me. She said give me your # I will call the tech.
About a half hour went by she called back and said the tech said it probly did not miss count. I said OK but I know I cant get the money back but yes IT DID MISS COUNT!!! I counted all my halves and Quarters before I cam and the total was wrong. So she said I talked to the manager also and we have pulled and marked all the bags and Monday they get picked up and weighed by the fed and she could tell me by wed if they had a mis count. she said when it happens they get a credit, And if the did she would make sure I was reimbursed.:hail::cool:

So guys that dump at those kind of places try and know how much you are dumping and have your receipts photo copied for the coin totals before they take them, They will do it for you and check your totals. And check it !!!

Well, today is the first day I can officially say that the CRHing gods were on my side. I stopped in at 3 small new banks today, which were eager to get rid of their coins, so they all might become new suppliers. The results (not much, but I'll sure take it!):

$13 in loose halves- This was my first real time getting halves. In the past, the only time I went I received modern mint rolls, so just getting them made me happy. They yielded a 1964, which is my first silver half from CRH EVER!!:hail:

$10 in BWR nickels- In just 5 rolls, I got a 45P war nick, 5 pre '60 keepers, and much to my disbelief, I found a 1989 decently off centered Jefferson. I do not actively search for errors, so this shocked me. It just caught my eye, so I set it aside.Since I know almost nothing about errors, I am going to wait for my uncle to come into town and appraise it.

Overall for a low amount of coins, today was a sucess!

Sorry to dissapoint you, but 1964 nickels were minted in such high quantities that they are virtually just worth face value. Sorry and welcome to CT:welcome:

Just dumped $100 in nickels and $60 in halves from the past week. On my way back I stopped at my pickup bank. My box of halves wont be here til wednesday so I got another box of nickels and my first ever box of cents to test the waters. As soon as I got home I opened them up to look for enders since I've never got an ender before. The box of cents had my first ever ender. Its just a wheat penny but I've got to start somewhere. Not sure what year it is yet, havent busted any open yet. Update tonite when I get a chance to look

Yeah they minted almost 3 billion of them and I hate getting them because they are usually worn looking and I think its a war at first.

Finished my box of nickels and 2 boxes of cents. Box of nickels gave me a 50P, 55P, and a decent 20P buff, a canadian nickel and a 5 cent euro but no silver. Still a good box. Boxes of cents gave me 22 wheaties, oldest was a 37, and 16 canadians and about $10 in copper. Pretty lame on the cents but oh well it was still fun. Also did $100 in quarters, a whopping 2 ATB, $100 in dollars, got one of the 3 President D's I need, and $50 in dimes - skunk like always. I've gone through $605 in dimes and only pulled 2 roosies out. I feel like that is pretty low. These rolls are BWR and the rolls I got the roosies from were CWR. Does anyone have luck with BWR or am I just spinning my wheels looking through them?

Strange enough, most of my dime finds come from BWR. It seems there are many CRHers in my area and CWR are just re-rolled.

I'm guessing that whatever supplier my CU uses just doesn't get many from their supplier. I also average a little less than one war nickel a box. I was thinking about trying another CU in the area but I would have to open an acct there and I don't want to go through the process if I'm going to end up with the same results.

CU hunts have always been a bust for me for some reason... Maybe its because I dump at them:yes:

I dump back into my CU since they have a coin counter. All their dumps go in bags that I assume go back to the Fed for redistribution so I'm not too worried about doin it.

I believe mine does the same thing... Maybe I should try there more.

It certainly makes it easier to deposit my dumps right into my account and then go over to the teller to withdraw a new batch. Sometimes the ones I don't deal with often look at me funny and ask if I just made a deposit of XXX dollars 30 seconds ago. :)

$30 BWR/CWR nickels - nothing much, but did get a entire CWR of 99% nickel Canadian 5 cents. I actually consider it a score, because I save them since they are "worth" $.07 each in metal value. The oldest was 1956.
