    Looks like it might be a 64, I'd be in the $180 range give or take a few bucks.

    1884 CC Morgans usually goes for $200-$240.

    Looks MS63 max, so bid accordingly :thumb:

    If you don't already have a Greysheet (Coin Dealer Newsletter) subscription, and you attend auctions such as these regularly, I'd recommend familiarizing yourself.

    I would say that is a 63 tops, perhaps a 62, so I would keep bids around $200. Besides, it isn't slabbed, nor is it a GSA, so lowest possible bid, as the coin is very easy to find in nice condition.

    I would stop at 175-190 ($200 max) you also need to factor in the sellers %

    The only weekly CDN I have with me (few months old) quotes 165/180 in 60. Considering the value does not rise substantially until 65, which this coin is not, I would try to stay in the range quoted above. Its such a common coin that there is no reason to settle to save a few bucks.

    IS Everyone sitting down?????

    Coin was placed in some bullsh*T holder, with a bullsh*t grade applied---sat in the back---waited for the other 73 lots to go by. And then it happened. The coins were brought out on a plastice tray and the auctionier talked them up so much it was sick--

    HE STARTED THE BIDDING AT $1,200.00!!!!!!!!

    I am not joking!!!!! $1,200.00!!!!!1 I almost droped my beer, shh they can't sell beer, red plastic cup, shhh,,,no joke.

    NO SALE====RESERVE OF $900.00----

    'Now I am not experienced in this here coin and stuff(sic)-but that there coin 'aint worthin a 'dat mush..'
    Roll Tide! But they missed the boat on that coin-
    Thanks for all your info-I was at $110.00 in my budget-=

    $1200, huh? Well, you win some and you lose some. This type of thing is all part of the game, but with just a $110 budget, chances were slim at a venue with competition anyways. Better luck next time.

    That is insane. Not like it has anything special. I know Morgans extremely well, and there is nothing (from the picture) that would make that worth even half of that auction amount. Talk about overbidding!!!!!!

    I go to auctions all the time across this great land, west coast to east coast. I see all sorts of morgans. Missiouri, forget the morgan year, CC, went for 75.00-but hey I am always lookin and learning--thanks!!!

    That coin is worth nowhere near $1200. For that price you could buy a nice certified CC dollar.
