I work at a bank and came across this bill the other day and I noticed it because it stuck out. The seal on the left was way darker than any of the others I had seen. I looked at it closely and it is not filled in with a pen or a marker. What exactly is this and is it rare?
it has some minor over inking. not super rare. in that condition no premium. how long have you worked at the bank if you don't mind me asking. i use to work at a bank. that is why i ask :thumb:

yeah you will do that in the down time. it's what got me started in coin and currency collecting. keep your eyes open as you never know what you might have in your hands
Yea I haven't found much of anything yet. A couple wheat pennies, a silver dime and a 40% half. And the 20 I guess lol. What serial numbers are sought after? Is it just like the repeaters, solids, binary, etc.. or are there others? Like I've seen some that caught my eye that were "15011502", "80087007", "66966166".
it's tough with currency. you handle so much at a time it's hard to really find specific serial numbers. i always put what i liked in a slot in my drawer and then when i had a chance look through again to find the best of the best. when i was working at the bank it was when silver was like $8-9/oz so no one really cared or searched change for it. i would get rolls and rolls of silver coinage everyday. it was awesome. good luck on your hunt :thumb:
We have a coin machine so I don't get many coins from the customers, the silver I've found was from the fed rolls I've opened when I needed change. I got something weird today actually. A customer came in with $50 in 2s. 2003 and $40 of of them were sequential. But what was really weird about the $40 is they were all attached together with a spine(for lack of a better word) of sorts. Like how note cards are attached together on one side. I took it to a coworker who had been there about 11 years and she had never seen anything like it either. Have any idea what that's about?
This is something some people do post-BEP, take a stack of bills and put glue on one edge (either the top or the left) to make a "pad" of notes (like a notepad with detachable sheets) for the novelty of it. As $2's are rarely seen enough to be considered a novelty to begin with, this is done with $2's a lot.
I don't remember his name, but there was a guy that used sheets of 4 deuces. He had them perforated and glued into a pad. He would tear them off at the point of purchase. Hilarity ensued.
