I love coins, and I love the Olympics. So I found a way to combine the two.

In 2011 Britain released 29 fifty Pence coins each representing a sport from the Olympics and Paralympics.
I have been posting these out to British medal winning stars of the games asking them to sign their corresponding coin. So far 7 have responded, including some really big names, like 4x Gold Medal winner Ben Ainslie. I have 6 out there waiting to come back from people like Ryan Giggs and Andy Murray.

That is pretty cool! Although I am not into autographs unless its on a check made out to me I still think its pretty neat. A guy i worked with for a bit used to read a lot of autobiographies and he would send them out and ask for autographs with a self addressed stamped envelope and claims to get almost all of them returned with a signature.

He has one book signed by a past US President, i thought it was pretty cool but only because the signature and the message he wrote was upside down :p
