It's hard to tell the surface detail from the scans, but it has plenty of detail. I paid $19 for this coin, I photo graded it to VF20, which lists for $55. Even if it's cleaned, it's still not a bad buy. My 1st key focus is the capped bust series, 2nd is seated. I wasn't looking to spend much on a seated coin until I complete more of my capped bust set. This filled the void perfectly.
Looks like it's still for sale on eBay during my post. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1861-LIBERTY-SEATED-QUARTER-90-Silver-Grade-VG-Civil-War-Era-/230908703604?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35c33b3374
I dont think so. once you buy it now, it is gone. why would it stay up for 10 minutes and allow someone else to buy it
Good deal! Seated quarters always perk up my interest. A few years back I managed to get an 1860-S for like 3 bucks which on its best day still wasn't even an AG03. But with a low mintage of only 56,000, and a survival estimation around 700 in any grade, it is one of the most rare seated quarters out there. Well I decided to sell it, and I did get $230 for it. Not bad for $3! If only it was in better condition...even a G4 might fetch close to a grand. I kinda regret selling it given its history, but it was just soooo worn and slick and without details. If I keep telling myself that last statement..it makes me feel better
Just out of curiosity why did you say you paid $19 for it when $18 or $21 would of made more sense, it was $18+3 shipping.....?
LOL don't fret everyone!!! The same coin is up again! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1861-LIBERTY-SEATED-QUARTER-90-Silver-Grade-VG-Civil-War-Era-/230908707252?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35c33b41b4
looks like its some sort of scam, and the seller is changing the prices and selling the same coin multiple times, i think......lol
