It was about a year ago... The ONLY time I've ever asked a question and the seller was quite rude. Looks like I didn't save the question.
I tend to ask questions from time to time to verify shipment possibilities. Always getting an answer, even when I contact sellers from other eBay sites and who hardly understand English. I even get replies when I send explanations to sellers with listing mistakes that could mislead possible buyers, i.e. non-silver coin described as silver. Seller can block certain buyers from contacting him, AFAIK, based on location. It could also be that you`ve been blocked by the seller intentionally based on past experience.
I've gotten a few stupid questions over the last 2 years. What's your lowest price? Will you except a trade? Will you sell outside of Ebay? You'll save Final Value and PayPal fees. PCGS misgraded that coin and I'll give you $2 for it. Other than "trouble" buyers, Ebay fees, PayPal fees, and the USPS selling on the Bay ain't so bad...:kewl:
I agree i just sold off some stuff on there and was bombarded with questions, especially after i listed wheat penny rolls.
how is that a dumb question? between around 9% ebay fee and 3% paypal fee, that is 12% that can potentially be saved. Sure it could potentially lead to problems, but a stupid question it is not.
Plenty of transactions have been completed outside of Ebay, you can transact without an overlord overlooking you while still minimizing risk, it is not that difficult. People have still been screwed even while using Ebays system. (ebay makes a bad call and rules in the scammers favor) Why would you not sell outside of Ebay, especially if the guy who was inquiring was willing to pay before the item sent?
Some Ebay seller say the melt value on these copper pennies are worth x amount of $$ but i thought it was illegal to melt the copper coins down, or is that just another ploy to get you to purchase the 1500 wheat penny lot???
For me I purchase outside EBAYS policies...... I know I take the risk paying by money orders.... but only been burnt once for 32.00 from a ebay seller named "ITCOINSHOP" they just never sent the item..........my loss.......
It is illegal, but at some point it will likely be retracted and made legal. Same as they did with silver U.S. coinage.
So you contact seller through Ebay and inquire about a coin to buy outside of Ebay? Who pays Ebay for using their stage?
Can't disagree with that, I'm working on it I have a tough time not speaking my mind and it does get me in trouble at times but that's life
