Found a neat Kennedy half rotation in circulation First one ever found and accidently just happen to turn it over..Don't know what it is worth will research for conclusion...
I thought i found one a couple of weeks ago while searching rolls but it turned out to have been machined from two coins and put back together. Tried to get it apart but must have been glued. One half of the obverse face was also slightly higher than the rim. Sent it back thru the coin counter with the rest.
I have a 1939 Mercury dime that is mated with a wheat back Rev and rotated Have had folks tell me it is trick coin..Looking to take apart but so far haven't figured it out really can not see the seam that should be on the rim for it to be two coins..Don't know if I'll spend money to send to grade..
I consider rotated die errors to be collectable once they are past 30 degrees or so, although the mint tolerance is somewhere from 8-15 degrees. keep up the hunt!
Is that true for modern coinage? I don't think I've ever seen a modern rotated, although it's common for pre mid 20th century.
Here is the link to a 1999 Jefferson Nickle Rotated Reverse I posted awhile back. Posted another one also but can't seem to find right now. http://www.cointalk.com/t203211/
