My main goal is to complete my Classic Commemorative 50 piece type set in PCGS AU58--MS65 grades. Set can be seen here.....http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/publishedset.aspx?s=96489&ac=1 BTW lets come back and edit our progress here this year. I will show additions as I get them.
I have three main collecting goal for the upcoming year. 1. Bring my Uncirculated Kennedy Business Strike book up to date. 2. Bring my Business Strike PCGS ATB set up to date. 3. Start a Slabbed War Nickel Collection (leaning toward PCGS) and as a side goal, i want to thin out my stock up stuff that doesn't fit my collection (random slabs, partial mint sets, lower grades and junk). -By the way, that is a pretty awesome collection!
Sweet set indeed, good luck! I have too many goals... But, for sake of argument: 1) organize and catalog the collection to figure out exactly what and how much of it I have, including building PCGS/NGC registry sets 2) finish my existing modern collections - ATB quarter, Pres dollar and start up new Kennedy collection 3) have all my "good" gold graded and slabbed
1. 1970-s small date LMC in MS65 (the last hole to fill) 2. Finish my Jefferson set all in Gem Unc. Including the 1994 and 1997 SP issues. (About 2/3 the way there) 3. Add more coins to my scientists collection. 4. Add more to my bunny collection.
Though I've often thought of collecting vintage brothel tokens, my collection is of depictions of lagamorphes, aka rabbits. And yes, the Mrs and I have several house rabbits. They make great house pets and are litter trained.
These are the only set the Mrs approves of so I get to spend some $ beyond my hidden slush fund budget
Yes, lagamorphs is cool. When I try a spell check, I get zigamorphs (that must also be a cool word for something normal).
Let’s see, my goal for 2013, try to keep up with the new issues I collect from the US Mint, without being screwed (too much) by them.
1) Double the amount of gold coins I have. I currently have 3, so if I can get 3 more this year, that'd be great. Current 3 I have are the 1/10 oz bullion coins, but I am thinking about adding some variety to my collection this upcoming year. May get a 2013 1/10oz but then the other two be something else. 2) Finish up on some minor collections. I am missing a few coins here and there on some common collections (clad quarters/dimes, jefferson nickels, etc...). 3) Get my Dansco type book at least 80% complete. I'm over half way there, but have been slacking on it for awhile now. 4) Get one of those 5 oz ATB silver coins!
I have several numismatic goals this year. 1. I want to complete my first album. Hopefully it's going to be my Washington Quarters or Mercury Dimes. 2. Work quite a bit on my US Type Album 3. Get my very own 1916-D Mercury Dime Good luck to all of you in your endeavors in the New Year!!
Find and purchase an out of date and impossible to find Mexico Type set album. Then I am going to work on filling up all the holes. I have about 1/3 of the coins already, just no album. They look naked with no home. Upgrade my "With Motto" Seated Liberty Dollar in VF or better. Certified of course. Then upgrade any US type coins under VF. Long term is VF or better on all US types.
1) Expand my numismatic library 2) Join some collector clubs 3) Attend at least 1 or 2 shows 4) Add some new coins to my collection: 1) 1805 Draped Bust half 2) 1875-CC Trade $ 3) 1865 type 3 Gold $ 4) 1877 Coronet head quarter eagle
