Got this one in the mail today. Beautifully toned coin, just the way I like them!

1947 Curved Right 7 Canadian Half, MS63 PCGS

The 1947 Canadian halves were made in four varieties. The 1947 non-Maple Leaf halves (as here) come in the Curved 7 Right (also called Short 7 Right) and the Straight 7 (also called Tall 7 or Curved Left 7) types. Then when India gained its independence from the British Empire in 1948, the dies were not ready so the Royal Canadian Mint stamped a small Maple Leaf emblem to the right of the 7. One of those Maple Leaf dies also had the rare Curved 7 Right; my VF35 PCGS example is posted earlier in this thread. Four different varieties in all; the only one I still need is the less-rare 1947 Maple Leaf, Straight 7. This Curved 7 Right non-Maple Leaf is one of 19 in this MS63 grade at PCGS, with 22 finer. Came back from my local coin shop with this in my hands. I paid $10
It is authentic. Did I do good?

It has signs of a harsh & abrasive cleaning but if authentic as you say, then it contains 3/4 ounces of silver.

 

1958 Italy 500 Lire

Yes, it is a common coin.
Yes, this Italian coin has been posted at CT many times.
Yes, I still think it is a most beautiful design.
Yes, I own several of them.
Yes, I bought another example & am posting it here.

This example is dated 1958 (on the edge). I still need an example dated 1961 (I think) to complete my collection.

 

I don't believe the cleaning as these are commonly found in numerical slabs looking like this.
My coin is actually not as scuffed u as the coins seem to show, but I will
Ebay seems to like the 1934 Junk dollars. This AU58 seems to have gotten some attention. And even if I get Details, I'll still probably be happy.
Either way, I got a great deal a hunk of silver.

 

Danish 1771 (frozen date) 1 Skilling

Here is a Danish 1771 (frozen date) 1 Skilling. This is a relatively large copper coin much like a large US cent. Can you imagine the stories this coin could tell?

In a little better condition, it might pass for EF don't you think? According to the Krause catalog, it can become an expensive coin when EF or better. (I got it for 15% of the EF catalog price).

When you move to Canada we look forward to seeing your Canada collection for sure. Here is one modern Canada coin that you must get. I just got this duplicate this last weekend. It is not a difficult coin to find but it certainly is pretty IMO. Send me a PM if you ever need a nice example.

Not New Just Skilling I picked up in the US Army


1+2 skilling set I had for a long time. I just broke off some cobwebs to post them. 2 skilling is from a Danish Island
the 1 skilling Looks AU I been told one more island Denmark own at one time???.

 

This is one is maybe not so pretty, but its a pretty scarce coin - 5 Mark 1907 for Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha with portrait of the duke Carl Eduard.

Nice modern design. Actually "won" this one in a bid.

 

The Gotha 5 Mark seems rare. KM 153 10 000 mintage. Does not seems much lesser grade than those sold by Heritage and Sincona.

 

KM 190 5 Centesimos

These four is a company. Some of rarest modern latin coins. I believe only one 1960 has been graded by NGC. The 1961, 62 and 63 are included in a 12,000 mintage.

 

I'm gonna have to check my Chilean coins for those!

 

Also got these. The 1933 5 centavos is a scarce one (an upgrade). I see my old Krause valued it at 55 US. Paid less than 10 for it.

 

You should, you find the 1960 I will sell it for you in Chile for 20% com.

 

I'm pretty sure I don't have anything in the 1920's or 30's, but I just might have one of those 1960's dates. I will check.

 

There are currently four Chile modern coins that demands a premium,

1. 2 Escudos 1971
2. The 1960 5 centesimos
3. Chiie 50 pesos error year 2009 NOT 2008.
4. 500 pesos year 2000 with date on the obv.

I found the collectors very active with rapid growth in economy. Believe it or not, that 2009 error is currently for sale for 1800 US.

 

It's possible I may have the first 2. I will need to check my Chilean collection when I get home.
