No S mint marks but the $1,000,000,000 note has a fancy serial number - 12251225. Do you think that's worth a premium? Maybe I should start a post in the currency forum.

I opened my present on Christmas. It is a very nice Columbian Exposition Commemorative Half Dollar from RiverGuy. Thanks!

I had one of these once. It was in a large lot of silver coins that I bought, but I returned them because they weren't as advertised: "Premium lot, no junk, no culls, etc". I have been keeping an eye out for a good one at my LCS ever since then, but the one's I've found so far are either junk, or they are criminally overpriced and I don't like haggling. :(

The one RiverGuy sent me is in much better condition than that one was! I will post photos as soon as possible.

    Thanks again!

Damage like this happens when the envelope is sent at letter rate instead of parcel rate. The letter rate mail gets sent through a roller machine, anything oversized gets crushed.

It was sent in a normal #10 envelope, but it did have cardboard protecting it. When i sent it back, I had it in a padded envelope and the postage was exactly the same....

Much thanks to my Secret Santa, "Goldmember", for his generous gift of a first year of issue 1971 40% silver Ike in the original issue blue envelope. Along with this super gift was an uncirculated Bicentennial 40% silver "S" minted Kennedy half dollar.

Thank you Goldmember:bow: and you certainly are one!!

Photos don't do the gifts justice.... both items are beautiful.

Guess who got their Secret Santa gift today .... THIS GUY!! I got a Cherrypickers Guide, 4th ed. Vol II which is great because I have a lot more dimes-dollars in my collection than copper pieces, 2/3 centers, and nickels!! It was probably the whole San Diego, CA to Fort Mill, SC thing that held it up (~2400 miles). Thank you so much ______ for the thoughtful gift and to Cannyn for setting this up. I'm in next year for sure! :high5:

That's odd. I made the mistake of sending coins letter rate a few years ago, the machine tore the coin right out of the envelope.

Glad you liked it the 40% silver bicentennial set was my pick. My daughters picked out to add in the steel cents mint mark set as that's there favorite type of coin because there 'silver' wheaties.

I finally got around to taking pictures of my gift:

I usually don't get a kick out of this, but while I was cropping down these photos, I accidentally clicked on "Invert Colors". I think it looks a lot like a crusty old bronze type coin in a 2x2:

Either way you choose to look at it, it's a nice coin. Thanks a lot for a cool gift RiverGuy!
