PCGS, NGC, or ANACS slabs; which one looks the best?

I wonder what company's slabs people think look the best.

I do not care for the white pulling my eye away from the coin. BTW ANACS were white back then too.
Settled on PCGS almost exclusively for my collection.

BTW adding a poll would probably work best to tabulate the selections.

 

I prefer the look of the PCGS holder. It offers better lighting of the coin and the current prongs that both NGC and PCGS employ are less bothersome on the PCGS holder. The ANACS holder looks and feels cheaper and I don't like the angle at the top.

 

I realize that, thank you, but would you mind telling me HOW to add a poll? I'm still a little confused on how to use the forum.

 

JC and the gang! Buy the coin, not the slab.........and don't fall for that "First Strike/Early Releases" BS!

I like the PCGS and NGC about equal, but like you, I think that the ANACS slabs are flimsy and a little ugly.

 

I agree, but I just want to see what slab people like the most.

NGC by far. PCGS slabs look cheap, ANACS look cheap and amateurish. ANACS old slabs look and feel nice though.

 

+1, except for grading. PCGS is best at grading, NGC has nice holders, Etc.

I prefer PCGS for their slabs and their grading standards. I wish that they would get rid of the edge view prongs and go back to the old style though.

 

Another fallacy! They both have their strong points and weak points. Naturally, PCGS wants you to believe that, but NGC just keeps their mouth shut and goes about their business.

I prefer the look of the PCGS slab. Not a fan of the new prongs they added though.

 

As a toned coin collector, I have always preferred the white background of the NGC insert over the clear plastic of the PCGS holder. I don't mind the prongs even in photos.

 

They all look the same after they've been treated with a band saw.

 

I like PCGS holders the best.

anacs old white holder
pcgs holder
ngc non prong holder
ngc prong holder
blue and yellow anacs holders

 

For looks I love the new ANACs slabs but to be honest a slab is a slab, it is the coin inside it that counts (sorry i don't collect plastic)
