You would think with it being the holidays coins would not be bringing as much due to people being strapped for cash, for the holidays.

Today I saw another coin, a capped bust quarter, bring full numismedia price, and it was whizzed something awful.

I've noticed heavy "gunfire" from the snipers. There has been a ton of sniping early, so instead of waiting until the last minute to bid, I put my max in early.

I was outbid on two problem free CBH's today, the one I really wanted went for $80, which looked like the same thing I could get in a slab for $20 more.

    Detecto, does it matter?

  6. 80$ to you might be a lot, to some it may be lunch money.

Naw, It's a O-106 R1. Nothing special about. Just some over anxious bidders...

On coins such as this, the difference between what a problem-free coin might go for vs. a coin with issues can be a relatively small sum. The coin has about $12.50 in bullion value and might bring perhaps $100 or so if problem-free. This does not leave all that much wiggle room, dollar-wise, for an impaired piece. Additionally, the hole looks like it might be square and might be old and this, oddly enough, could drive interest since holed coins of this era should have square holes rather than round holes if they are contemporary holes.

There are a lot of people that don't like to deal with dealers. They think ebay is always cheaper - sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't. One of the reason I say do comparison shopping.
