Ancient coins very rarely show nude people but gods are another matter. Some of them are rarely dressed. So far this thread has shown more men than women and that is also common with ancients. The most common female goddess shown undresses is Venus as shown here on a denarius of Julia Domna but by far more coins will show Venus fully dressed. Not common but always nude when they appear are minor goddesses the Three Graces or the Charities. They are shown with two facing and one from the rear (as is usual) on this Provincial coin of Caracalla. Male gods are more common as shown here in Apollo, Hercules and Poseidon. Higher level gods are more likely to be shown nude than are minor ones but Hercules is frequently shown at least uncovered enough to show off his muscles. There is an exception to the rule of higher level gods being shown less clothed. In late Roman coins we see many nude male figures of Genius of which really high grade examples can be too anatomically correct for most internet forums. Fortunately I have already reached the limit of 5 photos for this thread so someone else can show it.
