I picked up this otherwise unremarkable 1887 Morgan a week or so ago nd finally got to looking closely at it. There is a noticeable CUD in the cusp of the first (8). I cannot locate any mention of a VAM with this abnormality.

Any takers on IDing the coin?

    Thanks

Well Little Joe (I think he was the one with the itchy trigger finger :D ) I would say that that coin MIGHT be a Morgan dollar....can't be sure...but I might be right :)
    Nice find!

I know this thread is WAAAAAYYYY old, but I was wondering if anyone knew how much premium an 1887-P Morgan carried with a VAM-3A Super CD attribution? The coin is in about a MS-60 condition. I know this is a common date coin, but what does the attribution do for the value? 2012 redbook is listing it at $50 in an MS-60 condition, just curious how much that VAM would add to it

My 2011 VAMView Price Guide lists it at $45 in MS60. (I don't have the 2012 edition.) This price is based on actual sales data.

To me it looks like your typical MS 63 Morgan.

    Thanks Chris,

I was on the bay and one popped up for $59.95 in an ANACS holder designated as an MS-60 Details (for cleaning) and was wondering if it wouldve been a decent way to pick up a Variety coin like that. Looks like i did right by asking you guys and not getting burned. Realistically that coin should sell for ~$40 then judging by your info and the fact that it is a problem coin
