Possible 41 s Washington quarter variety

    Would love to know your opinion of this 41s quarter. It appears to me to be a large s variety depicted in the cherrypickers guide. Any opinions would be appreciated. TIA

    The top photo is of a genuine 41-S "large S" and the bottom your coin for comparison.

    Based on the pictures provided, I don't think the OP's coin is a 1941-S "large S".

    There are 2 types of large s varieties listed by Fivaz and Stanton. The one you showed is the first. I thought mine may be the 2nd. Can't find pics to post, sorry.

    I just checked my Cherrypickers guide, and it still looks like that the OPs coin is a small S....

    This was pulled from my own records of potentially worthwhile varieties (those than can add substantial value to low dollar or common coins). I did not check CP, so thank you for the update. That said, the mintmark on your coin, at least to my eyes, looks no different than the normal.
