Who is depicted on your coins that you would like to meet?

Take a look at the portraits on your coins. If you could go back in time & have a brief visit with one of those individuals, whom would it be?

    :)

We had this question at CT several years ago & it wasn't until after several posts that I posted "this same guy".

I'd ask old George to put me a Mint Set from each year in a locked box with my name on it. I'd tell him 1793-1825 would be just fine and dandy.

Not my coin, just like the look...

I would go back and ask some questions about the Constitution and subsequent Bill of Rights, and the founders intentions and guess as to how long their/our democracy would last.

I would like to meet Queen Elizabeth II, she seems to be the nicest person that is depicted on a coin. I heard on a BBC show that her portrait is on trillions of coins, banknotes and stamps.

I would have liked to have met Charles Darwin.
I`ve already met QEII (on all our coins) and even sat in one of her cars, I met Lady Diana when she was alive and the same with Pope John Paul II, however none of those were through choice, but I was getting paid for the privilege:cool:

Is there a coin with Caligula on it? It might to fun
to go to one of his parties.

Wow. I'd like to meet nearly every one of the people on my coins. But specifically Lincoln, Washington, and John F. Kennedy. I would say Benjamin Franklin, but I actually do not yet own any franklin half dollars. While I'm sure I have $100 bill somewhere, that isn't really a coin. As soon as I'm done filling up this last tube of 1964 Kennedys, I plan to start filling a tube with Franklins.

The Venetian coin depicts Jesus Christ sitting on a throne. I thought of this thread yesterday when I posted the NEWP in the World section. Someone told me that JC and Collect89 might have trouble with the language if we met 2000 years ago. I suspect if a meeting were possible, then we could navigate the language barrier. :D

Kind of hard for George to do considering he died in 1799. Now Jefferson could do it for you since he lived til 1826, and the Mint was under his control as Secretary of State.

You sure? You might wind up BEING the evenings entertainment. (And yes there are coins with his image)

Not if I become his official "seer" of future.

Oh yeah Calig your going to get marked to market
tomorrow. Yeah, I guess I better not tell him
that part. I let it be a surprise. :p

I'd kinda like to meet Lady Liberty... :)

Of historical figures, I think I'd lean toward Ben Franklin.
