This just sold on Ebay for $432. The plaque is 2.5"x3.5" Would you have bought it? Thoughts?

Maybe if the Lincoln portrait could be removed from the surrounding wooden looking plaque cause that thing is hideous and looking, as if a first year wood working student made it.

"Hideous" is a much too kind word.

If I could afford it? YES.

Its on my to-get list before I die. Want one to hang on the wall. Beautiful pieces. Don't know how many originals there are (very few from what I understand) but still nice.

I like the plaque, not the frame...but I don't nearly $500 like it. LOL That much green would buy a VERY nice Lincoln cent for my collection. :D

I just bought a nice VF25 PCGS 1914-D Lincoln for $407. Um, lemme think, NO!

BTW there are more of these Lincoln plaques -- the full-size ones, not this tiny thing -- around than generally thought, and most of them are much larger than 2.5 x 3.5 inches. The Brenner plaques I have seen/handled are about 6 x 8 inches. Some of them have a greenish onyx-type frame around them. Here's one from a Heritage auction a few years back, but you can find others there as well:

i personally like the frame and would not change it. its folk art. it is supposed to look like it was done by a person "un-trained" in the said medium.

This one sold on Ebay the last few days for $2650. It's one of the larger sizes.

I like it, including the frame. The chipping along the left side of the plaque on the frame, would however, limit my interest and would make me a little leery of paying that much for it.

These are pretty neat and I've wanted one for awhile, but every time I think of purchasing one, I buy coins instead :)

Same here. As much as I love these, I'm used to seeing them sell for about half that amount.
