After going through my loose change that I collect throughout the month I sat down to roll them up for deposit and found a silver 1943 war nickel. Not a great find but one of the little moments that keeps us coin hunters rolling.

I recently got one mixed in with the rest of the change I got during a purchase of some 90% halves at my local coin store...that CERTAINLY put a smile on my face ;)

I went to my bank and got $30 in nickels and found nothing but got a 1945 war nickel in change.

Ah...the first time I found a war nickel in change was like finding a winning lottery ticket for $50. I was so happy...so far that's been the only one I've found

Holy moley, all those boxes in your picture and you've never found one single war nickel? I do 1 to 2 boxes a week and get one in almost every box.

It might be because they live in canada, and maybe not to many silver nickels make it into the canadian currency.

So if you are selling this war nickel don't take less than a dollar they are worth about $1.20 to $1.40.

I actually believe that I have found the second most silver per box with nickels, behind halves. I average around 2-3 war nickels per box, which is more than I can say for dimes or quarters. However, finding one in change is a pretty rare occurence, so congratulations on that.
