I am a deputy, I say this to lend credibility to what I am about to say. Statistically, the first place burglars look for valuables is in the master bedroom, top dresser drawers, under the bed, all levels of the night-stand and in the closet on the top shelf. Recent trends have also seen that thieves like to toss the entire master bathroom as they are often looking for prescription meds and loose jewelry left in the bathroom. That said, children's bedrooms are generally left alone. It is a rare case that the thief will even enter into the kids bedroom unless there is high-end electronics/x-box systems readily visible and they ignore the other items. So, best bet is a floor safe in a kids closet which is covered by a small toy box or dresser.

Now look! We've figured it out 17 different ways, and each time we figured it, it was no good, because no matter how we figured it, somebody don't like the way we figured it. So now, theres only one way to figure it. And that is,everyman, including the old bag, for himself. So good luck and may the best man win. Except you lady, may you just drop dead!

Does a moat with alligators in it constitute a boobytrap? :|

That is open and obvious. If you can do it and get the alligators you should be fine, as long as you post "Beware of Alligator" signs. :D

You don't want your sign to be used against you in a court of law

This is my first post in this thread. Note that warning signs are sometimes used against the sign-posting individual. It can be used to prove that you knew you had a dangerous dog or that you had a predisposition to shoot first & ask questions later.

    So make the sign read:

    "Please don't feed the alligators!"

Ok, we all agree on that...

I like that. :) Even a sign placed with the best intensions can be twisted & used against the sign-poster.

Ohh so you knew that you had hungry alligators and you deliberately kept other people from feeding them specifically so that they would be starved & viciously attack my client..... :rollling:

The solution may just be to use really big crocodiles in the moat.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

And post a sign saying "Please don't feed the alligators!"

Lawyers can twist anything to what they want, to either use it offensively or defensively.
