75th anniversary San Francisco silver eagle set...final audited mintage released

The US Mint finally released the audited mintage for the 75th anniversary SF silver eagle set. The final mintage number is: 224,981. This is significantly lower than the earlier estimate of 251,302 and lower than the 20th anniversary set. I like this set a little bit more now. :smile TC

Well, I bought one and was happy with it.

I am still gald that I purchased one. between that and the hawaii puck my bank account has been hurt this year. oh well as long as the bills are paid............

 

well that is good I guess, but I don't think it's gonna help the value much... i think I still have about 7 left... dumped a few at the local coin show for what they cost me... only time will tell i guess

 

Is the "S" minted Silver Eagle included in the Making American History Coin and Currency Set the same coin that comes in the 75th Anniversary Set ?

 

Yes.

The reverse proof mintage is 224,981, but the plain proof could have a mintage of as many as 100,000 more due to their inclusion in the C&C set.

 

I have one early strike and two later strikes. The early strike seems to garner a little more value, at least on ebay.

 

The US Mint just released their annual report and now state that the mintage of the ASE SF 2 coin set is 179,921!

Yep, it's in there on page 21, in the first paragraph. I can't believe that many sets were cancelled. And I also can't believe I just sold my set on Craigslist last week for $160. Wow I thought these eagles were gonna tank and go toward intrinsic value. I was soooooo wrong LOL!

 

With 179,921 out there there's still plenty to go around folks. I ain't seein' a rarity........

 

Seems a little low. Wouldn't be the first time there's a misprint. I'd like to see further confirmation.

 

Don't forget the 2011-S at 100k for position #3.
