Well said Fade...gives me a different outlook as i am still new. I had a teller open her tray and I saw some $2 bill red notes. I asked to buy them and she said they were earmarked for someone else. Eh, whatever...it was tempting to make a deal out of it, but i dump there often (coin machine).

    Dimes:
    Box #1 - 2 64'D silver roosies and 1 1944 merc-a-lurps

Chase gave me $200 for opening up an account this past weekend...they didn't say anything about 3 silver dimes. Thank you Chase! Also got bag service at another bank...always had it...never used it, but just now finding out how convenient it can be with the halves, which I am planning to spend more time on...that silver itch.

Foolish parents, I would encourage a 17yo to hunt and save all his silver for his education, house, downpayment on a car, or whatever. Finding silver or error coins at face value is a great investment. I wish I start CRH when I was 25. I had money and silver was easy to find. If you don't find it now, it'll be much more difficult to build a stash with each passing year.

BTW I'm a parent (of 2), If my kid wanted to search I would give them $1000 bank roll to start with. You should show them this post.

Id ask your parents if they'd rather have you investing in free money or out stealing and doing drugs.

$323 in Ikes today... 2 '72 T2's! One is damaged, looks like water damage, gonna see if I can't save it. The other is AU but needs a soak in acetone. Amazing how mistreated these rare gems are sometimes...

I also pulled out a counterstamped '72, 4 others with water damage that look worth attempting to save, 3 '76 T1's (2 P, 1 D) and about 20 that would grade 63 or better.

    Another Box of Halves: 3-40%ers

I've searched 4 boxes now with my new company (Brinks) and thus far, I've found 6 40%'ers and 3 proof coins (1981-S, 2007-S and 2010-S). Not great results but better than the 6 skunks in a row from my last Half Supplier (Garda)

  19. That sucks. I'm happy that my little boy has interest in coins he's only 3 and he likes to be by my side when I'm searching I always take the rollls out of the box and put the loose coins in so when I look at the coins I pass them to him and he likes to look at them again and then he trows them in the box lol I enjoy searching with my boy.

My daughter is 6 and we have the opposite system. She opens a roll, checks for silver, and hands them to me for the double check before they go into the dump bag. She has a good eye!

    Hey everyone!

Just wanted to report that on my last box of halves I just found a 1944 walking liberty half!! WOOHOO!! First silver I have found in bank wrapped rolls for halves!! I would have been happy to find a 40%er so this just made my day!
