The last couple weeks I have the the great opportunity to purchase some absolutely stunning toners from fellow CT board members Cazkaboom and Urbanchemist. I haven't finished imaging everything yet, but here is a little taste of the rainbow. Cazka came through with some modern toned nickel proofs. One of my goals is to have a complete MS set of toned Jefferson nickels from 1938-Present. 1964 and back were the easy ones to find. The moderns are much tougher. This is the best modern clad toned proof dime I have ever seen. Eye appeal is off the charts. Then there's the unbelievable Jefferson nickel hoard that urbanchemist honored me with seeing first hand and imaging. The collection would make even the seasoned Jefferson collector blush. I couldn't resist buying some. I wish i could have bought them all. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed tonight's sneak preview. -greg
I got an amazing toned war nickel from him, as well as a really cool toned Franklin. I've never seen so much purple on a coin. I like to look at next to an untoned MS Franklin and wonder how it happened and how long it took.
Basically with the franklin, (Picture for others to understand) This franklin I got from a dealer was from one of those cardboard double mint sets. These mint sets were high in sulfur that caused wild toning and a lot of the times massive toning too. This one was stored in the mintset until a week before I bought it when the dealer took it out to put in a 2x2.
Well...that explains it. That photo doesn't show the purple very well, just the blue. Really pleased Cazkaboom.
Thank you. I can feel the Jefferson love! Here is the rest of them from the group I received:http://www.cointalk.com/t191715-135/#post1584308
This image is from a 1959 that Robec assisted me in purchasing. His advice led to a gorgeous coin landing in my collection and now being imaged by one of the best out there. This image is of a 1970 that i was able to purchase from GBroke. I have wanted one of these for my collection for a very long a G man helped me out with this beauty. Hope you enjoy the great images provided by Robec and the great coins I have aquired. [/COLOR]
