You and quite a few others have pretty distinct online personalities.

    Wow. Just, wow.
I literally LOL'd at that one.

I quite enjoy this forum. Disappeared for a few months cause I been very busy but been posting more the past couple weeks. I don't post on any other coin forums but I post on several weather boards and this place falls into 2nd friendliest and most fun to read.
Only one that beats it is www.talkweather.com, but that may be because I enjoy the subject so much lol.
But back to this forum, the mods are definitely way up there on the "nice" scale compared to other boards and they do their job well. I'm certainly glad to be back posting and welcome to the forum! :)
As far as "knowing" folks, I talk more to people I have never met than I do with folks I have, especially on Facebook, all because of forums like this one. :D

    Welcome....Welcome.....Welcome!

    GTG Threads:

A coins true grade is very seldom "readable" from a photograph unless the hits are obvious. However, "hits", especially grade limiting hits, can often be masked. As such, GTG should be done "just for the fun of it"!

True appreciation of coins and their grades can only be done hands on. Lots of shows, Lots of Coins.

Yes, some of the folks on here are predictable characters. I suspect mainly because each of us has our own priorities. REDWIN is a good example. He's extremely proud of his coin and the story behind it. So much so, he's fairly predictable.

Doug will lay it straight out based upon his experience and again is fairly predictable although he's surprised me at times by agreeing woth me which is fairly unusual! LOL!

Like you, I really enjoy these boards. CoinTalk especially since it's not loaded with predjudiced individuals whose only opinion is that if ain't silver, it ain't worth collecting! There are many, many folks who simply appreciate what you share which is as it should be. It makes folks want to come back........which I do time and time again.

I really like this place too. Lots of friendly people, been learning a ton, and even got interested in some new coins.

BNB's threads were some of the most entertaining threads in the history of Cointalk. I miss my friend JJC.

At some point a timeline / chronical of CT will appear. Archived threads won't do the trick, high and low points will needed to accurately show the sites history.

BNB and jazz will without a doubt be two of the low points. They will also be some of the most entertaining.

why are people picking on Jazzie? He's the only one here to ever get me worked up enough to almost get booted....

I had actually found jazzcoins before (and then read all his posts of course). He was entertaining as well but not in the same way as BNB, who has arrogance combined with a fair amount of idiocy on his side. Plus I haven't even loaded up his youtube videos yet but I can imagine.

BTW the reason I found BNB's posts was a post on here titled ebay scam (or something to that effect) where the links were removed but apparently the seller was basically flat out scamming everyone. The links were removed by the time I read the post. Then another user replied saying something to the effect "Yes that is one of our old forum mates BNBanalytics."

My question is is that correct? I'm through about 1.5 of the 8 pages of BNB's posts, but it is going to add to the enjoyment if I know that his ultimate conclusion was "Fine I'm just going to flat-out scam people."

Enough of BNB ...thanks again everyone for your responses and the welcome. I have some nice ancient coins and some uncleaned coins on the way which I will start on this weekend so if I can figure out how to take pictures I will probably post to the ancients thread. I have a feeling some of my initial cleanings will probably be humorous in their own right as well.

Tell you what, if you get good at cleaning I have a few thousand I can let you "practice" on. I have a lot of good uncleaned coins stockpiled I never got time to work on. :(

Their posts are fairly interesting. In a nutshell, they say "check out this coin" or "what do you think about this coin" and when not told what they want to hear they get defensive and / or offensive. I'd say I have more numismatic knowledge than either of them when they were arguing with pretty much everyone at once, and I'd put my knowledge at about 1.5 on a scale of 1-10. If I had to choose a word, it would be delusional. But there's more to it than that as well.

I suppose delusional is interesting in a way. :)

One fancied himself an alien IIRC. Or maybe he was so strange I just assumed he was one. The other sent me an e-mail last night to give me kudos about my E-Bay store.

Interesting? I say fascinating, and extremely entertaining. They didn't just fill up space with their posts like Mrbrklyn and Detecto, they actually engaged in heated disputes about coins.
