I have several sheets of star notes and am looking to sell them; what is best; to cut the sheet into individual notes or sell as a whole, or partial sheet?

All ideas welcomed - Thanks! :smile

Definitely sell it as a sheet. The trimming tolerances were so tight at the BEP that any deviation from the actual will make the notes altered. And collectors aren't really keen on that.

    Thanks.

Are there reference data on trimming or dimensional tolerances out there?

Not that I can find, it's the kind of information the Treasury dept. would probably want to keep a secret. You should just sell it as a full sheet anyways, you will get more money this way than if you parted it out.

you will always get more for the sheet then destroying it and selling the notes separately. no one will really buy notes cut from a sheet :thumb:

No matter how you cut it, notes from a sheet are easy to identify.

If I read the charts right, those are all really short runs. As few as 128,000 to as many as 640,000.

99990900* - that would be a nice note to own. I would not cut any of the sheets up personally!

cut the sheet, and you cut the value. period. cutting a sheet is like cleaning a coin. would you do it?

$10DA (New York) from a run of 416,000 notes.
$10GA (Boston) from a run of 64,000 notes.

The Boston will be worth more than the NY, but both should get a nice price at auction.
The deuces? Might be hot because of the one that's all nines and zeros.

    Don't cut them!
All of the value will disappear!

I am not in favor of cutting sheets, but there are instances where it's OK, especially if you know what you're doing.

This note is in a 69PPQ holder and was cut from a sheet after it left the BEP.
