Could someone make a list of things to look for on $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills? I'd really appreciate it.

If you can't make a list of all those, I'd really appreciate one just for $2 bills. Thanks guys!

You're going to want to look for large stains, folds/creases, and most importantly tears/rips.

a quick list for all bills would be condition, stars, fancy serial numbers, low serials, and any errors. A good idea would be to purchase a book regarding collecting paper money, or a price guide with more information in it.

got any recommendations for books? or know of any websites where I could find it free?

Found a nice website that can tell me the values of stars and XF notes but still don't know how to price fancies, low serials, or errors.

ebay has been my friend for awhile now. you can search completed listings to get an idea of what similar notes have sold for on the open market.

i just recently picked up the red book guide to paper money and also this guide to us paper money errors from amazon. they have both been pretty useful.

I use Standard Catalog of US Paper Money and you can find copies of older editions on Amazon for a few bucks. Also, check into Greensheets for up to date dealer prices for currency, or peruse around completed auction listings on Heritage Auctions.

I agree, you want an accurate price for what something is going for check ebay. Most likely what ever people are buying for on ebay is really what something is currently worth in my opinion.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

To the person buying it, yes. But it may not be worth that amount to everyone.
I've seen many items sold on ebay for amounts that I feel are much too high.

That is very true, junk silver alone usually sells well over spot on ebay, but I think the site is a pretty good indicator of what coins or collectables are curently worth, especially in a liquid sense.
